Last Friday I was able to see the UK band Discharge at The Anvil Rockbar in Bournemouth. If you haven't heard of them, they formed in the late 70s and created a new wave of gnarlier and irresistable punk. By the time i was able to see them they had sold out of nearly all their merch on their tour and unfortunately, i couldn't get a hoodie. However, i was quick enough to get a t-shirt of their album: Hear Nothing, See Nothing, Say Nothing.

Since I had to wait for the band to start playing, i was able to stand around and look at what everybody was wearing. I saw many punks, extreme hairdos, battle jackets, spikes. Alot of people had patches sewn onto their clothes; i recognised multiple of the bands on them, including: Subhumans, Misfits, Slayer and far more. I saw a spectrum of people in the crowd, they ranged from older fans to people my age, 16 or even younger. This proves that it does not matter your age, you can s music is an art, made for everyone. enjoy whatever music you like a

The lead up to their first song was exhillirating, they dragged it out as long as possible, standing on the stage infront of everyone, all excited for them to finally begin playing. When they finally did, it was amazing; nothing like i had heard listening through my headphones at home. It was atleast 10x better then how they sounded on Spotify. Both my favourite songs, New World Order and The Nightmare Continues were on the setlist. Honestly, the gig was incredible, I was smiling the whole time.

Overall, the whole experience was great. Seeing all these different bands i listen to on peoples clothes was refreshing compared to being the only person knowing the band on my t-shirt. The music was so fast, extreme; exactly what i was hoping for. It filled me with adreniline and excitement. I would highly reccomend seeing Discharge or any punk band for that matter.
